Psaltery:
The psaltery (psalterion, saltere, sauterie, Psalterium, Psalter, salterio) is an ancient intstrument seen in many forms. The name of psaltery entered Christian literature in the 3rd century B.C. translation of the Old Testament. Early versions were simply a wooden board with gut strings stretched between pegs. The modern version is bowed, not plucked.

Simply put, a bowed psaltery is probably the easiest instrument in the world to play. It's a 20" long by 8" wide triangle with strings running its length and is played with a bow.

Our psalteries are all handmade in the USA, and in fact, most are crafted here in Mountain View by local luthiers.
