Christmas 2006, I was wishing for a vintage Hofner bass guitar. We were spending Christmas with our daughter and son-n-law, who was a State Trooper in Leslie, Ar at the time. On Christmas morning while exchanging gifts, my daughter uncovered a violin bass. I thought they had found the Hofner!. To my surprise it was a Johnson from your store. Needless to say, I was disappointed. It was a long few days before I could get home to give this "no-name" guitar a try on my Fender Bassman 100. WOW! Was I surprised. It was great! Easy action, hot pickups, any sound imaginable. I play with a doowop group and it fits in perfect. Everyone asks if it is a Hofner. I always say, "No, I wouldn't trade this for any Hofner I've played". Here is a link to our group on youtube. > > >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF9NxrO07oA >Joey Pruett >Rector, Ar

Hi, Ray, It was good to meet you and hang out at your store last week! I had a fine time visiting Mtn View and getting to know a bit about what happens there and meet some good folks. These wheat drum sticks work pretty good! Just FYI: they seem a bit heavier than hickory sticks (although my other pair is a 7A, and these wheat sticks are 2B, but I wanted something heavier for when the band cranks up some Bonham - Moon kinda tunes). Also, they seem to be a bit more bendy than hickory sticks, meaning they will probably bounce more and maybe, combined with the weight, pick up some momentum and produce a more swrious impact. . . just guessing, not being scientific. I like 'em! Again, the disclaimer is that I'm not anything near a real drummer, not like those guys you see in the marching bands doing all kinds of fancy rolls and such, or the very competent rock, jazz, or whatever players who can just amaze us with their natural ability -- I'm just a novice. Hope all's good there -- I'll come back and visit again, and hopefully be able to stay a bit longer. Take it easy - Luther Bradfute

Hi Ray I just wanted to write and say how happy I am with the recent purchase of my first instrument from Zeke's! Under the advisement and help of Ray and his friend, Cecilia, I bought a mandolin and I am having the best time learning to play it (except for the sore fingers...ha!). I really believed I wasn't musically inclined toward or able to play any instrument but with some encouragement and instruction from Cecilia, I realized that, yes, even I can play a mandolin! Thanks so much to Ray (and Cecilia) at Zeke's for the helpfulness and encouragement. I know that playing the mandolin will bring much joy to me for the rest of my life! Vicky
